Hunting for the Good Stuff?
Have you heard of this game? It's simple! You take a few minutes for people to share with the group what is going great in their life. It is an excellent way to keep morale up! A game we frequently played during my Army days. Somedays were harder than others, so sometimes the good things got lost in the background. If you allow the negativity to take over, then that’s exactly what will happen. So, are you ready to “Hunt for the Good Stuff”?
You can do this in a group or solo, doesn’t matter. If you are in a group, join together and whoever feels like it can share something good that is happening in their life. Whether they just had a healthy baby, got married, paid off a credit card, or woke up this morning. No matter how big or small it is, if it means something to you, it matters! This is an awesome way to share and connect with the people around you and to start off your mornings on a brighter note. Because not everything is completely just bad! There is always some good sprinkled in somewhere! Hunt for the good, bring it forward, and relish in that. This will help to change your mindset and to realize that life has little gifts given to you on the daily. Some days I’m happy to get a good, balanced breakfast or an extra half hour of sleep my body really needed. It doesn’t have to be something as grand as winning the lottery, if it something that is improving your life, then celebrate and know that it matters! When you share with a group, being able to celebrate with others in their own tiny or grand accomplishments is a great feeling and helps you to sit back and reflect on the things that truly matter.
Next time you are feeling down or that nothing is going right.
Go hunting! Relish in the small moments like getting a hot cup of coffee, sunny days, yummy lunch, your child’s laughter, or warm hug from a spouse. Don’t allow the worries of the day overload you and take over your happiness.
You deserve more than that.
Believe in that!
